3DPONICS IN SCHOOLS
3Dponics is a great way to increase students’ interest, engagement and achievement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), thereby equipping them to enter today’s tech-driven labour market.
The problem with current curricula is that schools are not preparing students well enough for today’s in-demand jobs. In fact, careers in the fields of science and technology are some of the fastest growing occupations in the U.S. and Canada. Meanwhile only 16% of American high-school seniors are interested in pursuing a career in a STEM field, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
It is then only logical to conclude that a major change in the curriculum must occur—a change that prioritizes STEM subjects; promotes non-traditional teaching methods like tactile learning; and embraces technology.

.3DPONICS IN SPACE
Space farming may sound like something from the latest sci-fi movie, but it’s actually closer to reality than most people think. The fact that humans are exploring space more and more fervently underlines the need for an efficient and affordable way to get fresh greens to astronauts and space crews.
We believe that 3Dponics could be that solution—a garden that can be printed and assembled in space and that uses minimal resources to operate. The basic system is there; now we need people like you to put your knowledge and skills to the test and develop upgrades that would transform 3Dponics into a functional and efficient space farm!

.3DPONICS AND THE MAKER MOVEMENT
3Dponics has inspired people from all over the world to build their own 3D-printed gardens, even people who don’t know anything about hydroponics or have no interest in gardening.
This is because 3Dponics isn’t just about growing plants—it’s about using an emerging technology, creating something meaningful, challenging yourself to think outside the box, to create a functional system from scratch, and even adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Just some of the people we’ve inspired so far include restaurant owners and professional chefs, educators, researchers, parents, hydroponics equipment manufacturers and manufacturers of 3D printers.
